Local high school students took a break from the books Wednesday during a career success day to learn how to be successful in the world of work. During the event, more than 2,000 students from Gainesville High School, Wood’s Mill Academy and Chestatee High School went to Brenau University, Lanier Technical College and Featherbone Communiversity to hear from businesspeople about what will be expected of them once they enter the job market. Sandy Salyers came to the event from her job at Well-Fargo to teach students about soft skills, the social and personal behaviors that are expected of people in the workplace.
