Hall schools spending for raises, new positions in 2017 budget

Hall County Schools will add teaching positions because of additional students, provide raises for all employees and pay more for health insurance for non-teaching employees in its fiscal year 2017 budget of nearly $227 million. The Hall County school board unanimously approved the budget and set the millage rate at the same 18.8 mills Monday evening. Two budget hearings were held during the day, and no one spoke about the budget at either hearing.
