Hall County officials are looking to cut costs by reducing the number of pay periods for employees, but any change is now unlikely before January or February. Commissioner Scott Gibbs proposed the idea of moving to 24 pay weeks from 26 and cutting checks for employees on a bimonthly rather than biweekly basis. However, Finance Director Vickie Neikirk told the Board of Commissioners on Monday that it can expect just $90 in savings per year by eliminating two pay periods because the new billing cycle would actually require more processing time.
