A Gainesville man is being held in the Gwinnett County jail on charges that he raped two female teenagers during psychotherapy sessions at his former Lawrenceville home.

Carmine Edmund Baffa, 52, was arrested April 9 on charges of rape and sexual assault, child molestation, aggravated child molestation and aggravated battery, Gwinnett County Police announced during a news conference Wednesday.

Police Cpl. Illana Spellman said Baffa posed as a hypnotist and psychotherapist and was host to seminars in the Atlanta area focused on life improvement. The seminars were held at hotels in Gwinnett and Cobb counties, Spellman said. Bafa would then offer individual "coaching sessions" with adults and children, she said.

Spellman said a 13-year-old girl and a 19-year-old woman told police they were raped at Baffa's home in the 600 block of Stationview Run during separate therapy sessions.

The 13-year-old said sessions with Baffa took place between August 2006 and July 31, 2007, Spellman said.

The 19-year-old said she attended sessions beginning in the fall of 2006 and was raped in January 2007, Spellman said.

Gwinnett Police believe other victims may be involved and are requesting anyone with information to call investigators at 770-513-5356.

According to police Bafa's seminars were initially named "Mindsight" and later were changed to "Precious Video Productions."

Baffa is currently being held without bond in the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
