Gainesville cap on tow truck charges means stranded drivers in Hall face sticker shock
No limits in county, but wreckers facing rising costs may challenge city

If your car is towed after breaking down, following an accident or because of a traffic or major criminal violation of the law, it will likely cost less within the Gainesville city limits than anywhere else in Hall County. Though it’s nothing new, this appears to be a little-known fact, and something that has caused frustration for some local residents. “There’s right and there’s wrong,” said Bill Smallwood, a Lula resident who recently found this out for himself. “... (Towing companies) are sucking the insurance companies dry, making it hard on us.”
