Former state Rep. Carl Rogers, R-Gainesville, is now the vice president of economic development at Lanier Technical College. Rogers said his experience as chair of the higher education committee in the Georgia General Assembly led him to the job, which he started Aug. 1. “Their feeling was that I could benefit the students,” Rogers said.
