  • Hall County probate judge: Brook Davidson, Patty Walters Laine

As Tuesday’s primary runoff draws closer, more than 3,000 voters already have made their choice.

Charlotte Sosebee, Hall County Board of Elections director, said that number is as of Wednesday afternoon. The Thursday turnout, she said, had not been counted yet.

“It’s been pretty active so far,” she said. “We’ve had a pretty steady flow (of voters).”

Today is the last day to cast an early vote, and it can be done 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the elections office at 2875 Browns Bridge Road, Gainesville.

Sosebee said she expects about 15 percent of the registered voters to show for the runoff.

“We have more local races than we had in the last general primary runoff,” she added.

In 2008, 8.69 percent of the registered voters came out to the polls during the runoff.

On Tuesday, voting will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all 35 polling locations.

Sosebee urges voters, once at the poll, to relay any issues with the process, including mistakes on the ballot, to election officials.

“If there is ever any question or any error that might need to be brought to our attention, I can’t stress how important it is for voters to bring that to our attention so corrections can be made,” she said.
