Floyd becomes partner, VP at Turner, Wood & Smith

Turner Wood & Smith Insurance in Gainesville has promoted Jimbo Floyd to vice president and partner.

Floyd, a Bainbridge native, joined the firm in 2005, serving primarily commercial clients.

Floyd becomes the company's fourth partner, joining Wood, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Robert Fowler and vice president Tony Nix.

"We are extremely pleased to announce this deserved promotion," said Joe T. Wood, president and CEO of the company. "Jimbo's commitment to his profession, his clients and our community has contributed to the success of our company. He shares our organization's zeal for community service, as evidenced through his active involvement in a number of civic and charitable causes."

A graduate of Leadership Hall County, Floyd serves on numerous boards with local nonprofit organizations. He and his wife, Jenny, have two sons.

Turner, Wood & Smith, founded more than 100 years ago, is the largest independent insurance agent in the area.
