A local stalwart of indigent legal defense was honored Saturday at the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Dan Summer received the 2014 Indigent Defense Award presented by the association to honor Georgia lawyers who make strides in the field. “He has always been vocally supportive of the formation of the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council and has always stood up for the rights of indigent people to have good legal representation,” said Hall County public defender Nicki Vaughan.
