Cancer survivors 'don't ever give up'
Men and women share their stories at annual Relay For Life
0517relay4
Stanley Stephens lifts the lid off the fire box of the first hand-built smoker he and his brother made. Stephens is a cancer survivor and planned to attend the Relay for Life event Friday in Hall County. He and his brother had served barbecue at the event for several years.
Every year, Stanley Stephens looks forward to Relay For Life for two reasons. The man in his late 40s and his brother Jerry get to sell mouth-watering charcoal and wild cherry wood-smoked barbecue to all the workers, volunteers and participants at the annual walk. And most important, Stephens meets other cancer survivors and shares his story to those battling the disease.
