Men and women will don their old work clothes to walk along the shoreline or wade into and paddle on the water to help clean debris from the county’s rivers and lakes next weekend. The fifth annual “Sweep the Hooch” calls for volunteers to clean Georgia’s waterways by removing garbage and debris across the state. Last year, 580 volunteers pulled more than 7 tons of litter from the river and its tributaries.
