Habitat to tickle funny bone on Saturday night

Palate-pleasing food, a musical interlude and a fundraising auction will fill “A Night of Laughter” for Habitat for Humanity of Hall County this weekend.

Once again, the nonprofit is hosting its signature event at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Cottrell Circle C Ranch in Dahlonega.

This year’s main attraction is set to be stand-up comedian Jeff Allen, who is billed as the “world’s funniest, most inspiring comedian.”

For three decades, Allen has performed at churches, on television and radio and in movies for fundraisers and corporate functions all across the country. His comedy drives home the humor in everyday family life and the joy derived from a healthy marriage.

Participants will also enjoy the “total palate pleasing adventure” offered by Chef Kern Chiasson. His specialties include Cajun, French, Italian, Southwestern, Mediterranean and classic Southern cuisines.

Front man of Step Back Cadillac, Radford Windham, will entertain guests with music. The Dahlonega native will play Southern rock and acoustic folk music throughout the evening.

As is tradition, the night will conclude with the Virtual Reverse Auction called by Philip Wilheit. For the auction, parts of future homes are auctioned off to the highest bidder to donate to Habitat Hall County.

All proceeds and donations will go to Habitat’s mission of “seeking to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.” Supporters are encouraged to dress “country casual.”
