Wine Without Pretense: First 'boxed wine' skirted Prohibition

Most of us know Prohibition in this country was a dismal failure. Amending the U.S. Constitution to stamp out the production and consumption of alcoholic beverages not only failed in that murky mission, but actually did the opposite. Production of booze of many iterations — bathtub gin, beer and wine — actually increased, as did the amount Americans poured down their throats.
