High school basketball: Ashlee Locke's double-double leads Flowery Branch girls to fourth straight region win

Flowery Branch’s Ashlee Locke scored a game-high 30 points with 16 rebounds in a 61-43 win against Denmark on Friday. Shaina Krews added eight points, while Alana Veiga scored eight for Flowery Branch.

The Lady Falcons turned a 30-18 halftime lead into a 44-25 advantage after three periods.

Up next, Flowery Branch hosts Marist at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

DENMARK BOYS 58, FLOWERY BRANCH 38: Judson Burney scored 19 points for the Falcons, while Andrew Armstrong chipped in eight. 

Flowery Branch will take on Marist on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

CHESTATEE GIRLS 62, WEST HALL 27: Maggie McNair scored 18 points and Emma Easterwood finished with 17 for the Lady War Eagles (4-4, 2-2 Region 7-4A). Also in double figures scoring, Logan Wiggins had 11 points. 

Up next, Chestatee hosts White County at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

ST. PIUS X GIRLS 61, GAINESVILLE 48: Sadie Roach had a team-high 11 points for the Lady Red Elephants on Friday. Up next, Gainesville faces Booker T. Washington at 2 p.m. today in Dawsonville. 

BUFORD GIRLS 48, NORCROSS 42: Tate Walters scored 21 for the Lady Wolves (10-0) on Friday in Norcross. Up next, Buford faces Mill Creek at 4 p.m. today in the Gwinnett Challenge at Lanier High. 

DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 57, NORTH HALL 54: The Lady Tigers scored 25 points in the fourth quarter for a region victory Friday in Dawsonville. Leading the way scoring for Dawson County were Kirklyn Porter and Marlie Townley with 14 points each. Mariah Benson had 12 points for the Lady Tigers, while Sophia D’Oliveria had 10.

Up next, Dawson County hosts White County at 6:30 p.m. tonight in the North Georgia High School Showcase in Dawsonville. 

BANKS COUNTY BOYS 94, PUTNAM COUNTY 57: Clay Gosnell led the Leopards with 22 points, six boards and six assists on Friday in Homer. Carl Cleveland had 19 points and 10 rebounds for Banks County, while Pierce Martin scored 15.

Up next, Banks County visits Rabun County at 6 p.m. tonight.
