Gainesville's offense shines in 38-29 win against Winder-Barrow

Lenny Chatman scored on a 66-yard flea-flicker pass from Walt Dixon 30 seconds into the game and Gainesville (4-4, 2-1 Region 8-6A) rushed for more than 300 yards in a 38-29 win Friday against Winder-Barrow in Winder. Chatman scored again later in the first quarter, a 27-yard pass from Gionni Williams, to go up 14-0.

Gainesville built a two-touchdown lead again in the third quarter when JD Brooks ran it in from the 3. Its touchdown was set up by a 48-yard run from DJ Miller. 

Williams rushed for two second-half touchdowns, along with 110 passing yards and a passing score on the night. 

Brooks was the leading rusher with 23 carries for 105 yards for Gainesville. 

Dez Brown rushed for 95 yards for the Red Elephants. 

On Friday, Gainesville hosts Apalachee at City Park Stadium.
