Local golf: Scramble format game held at Chattahoochee

The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a scramble format game Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

The team of Buzz Hansen, Stu Virgin, George Clegg and Tony Denote finished in first place with second place going to A.J. Kiker, Jim Hollobaugh, Milton Martin and Glynn Rogers.

Third place went to the team of Joe Kolesar, Dave Long, Charles Landergott and Art Lueptow. Fourth place went to Jack Costello, Harry Barnett, Jerry Ermlich and John Beem. Fifth place went to John Gibbs, Bill Falls, Gary Myers and Leo Whalen.

Closet to the pin winners were Clay Bartlett (No. 3), Jim Carroll (No. 5), Costello (No. 12) and Warren Jahn (No. 17).

Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Group

The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a low gross, low net game Tuesday at Chattahoochee Golf Course.

In the first flight, Sally Smith won the low gross and Susan Prather won the low net.

In the second flight, Johann Stone won the low gross and Paula Pilgrim won the low net.

Closest to the pin winners were Ethel Smith (No. 3), Stone and Carolyn Palmer (No. 17)

Luna’s Tuesday Golf Group

The Luna’s Tuesday Golf Group played this week at Orchard Golf Course in Clarkesville.

The team of Randy Gordy, Steve Hill, Norm Nichols and Keith Fitzgerald won the match. Second place went to Bob Norton, Royce Deaton, Anthony Barrett and Ken Chahoy.

Closest to the pin winneres were Tommy Lowery (No. 2), Gene Cobb (No. 7), Donnie Smith (No. 11) and Hill (No. 13).

Wednesday Dogfight

This week’s Wednesay Dogfight was held at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

The team of Jim Arendt, Bob Arendt, Corey Stokes and Mike Tilson finished in first place. Second place went to the team of Alan Kellogg, Sonny Sykes, Ken Dooley and Mark Black.

Tilson was the individual winner. Bob Arendt, Greg Lee and Black tied for second and Stokes, Sykes and Dan Gardner tied for fifth.
