David Hartis was in the audience when friend and former protégé Doug Thurmond was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2007. Nine years later, Hartis will be the one receiving the plaudits. Hartis, who served 31 years as a wrestling coach between Johnson High and North Hall, will be inducted into the Georgia chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame on May 1, 2016.
