Buford’s Kennedy Kotula pitched her third complete game of the season Tuesday night in a 12-0 shutout of White County.

Kotula allowed three hits and no runs in the four-inning effort while striking out a batter and walking one.

Jordan Deep went 1 for 2 and hit a three-run home run in the fourth. She tallied four RBIs and a run in the victory.

Remington Hasty and Alexus Murray both went 2 for 3 and combined for five RBIs, a double and a run scored.

Baylee Sexton was 2 for 2 and stole three bases for the Lady Wolves.

Buford (18-1, 5-0 Region 8-AAAA) will face Woodstock tonight at Lanier High in Sugar Hill as part of the Elite Sports Classic put on by Grayson High School.

PARSON PITCHES COMPLETE GAME IN WIN: Banks County defeated Fannin County 3-1 on Tuesday night thanks in part to pitcher Mallory Parson. Parson pitched all seven innings and allowed just one hit while striking out six batters and allowing no earned runs.

Abby Baird, who went 3 for 3, hit three singles. Morgan Rylee was 2 for 4 with two singles and an RBI.

Banks County is now 15-5 and 8-1 in Region 7-AAA. Banks hosts East Hall today at 5:30 p.m.

NORTH HALL COMPLETES COMEBACK: The Lady Trojans rallied from a six-run deficit to defeat Monroe Area 8-7 on Tuesday night.

North Hall strung together six hits in the final inning to pull out the win. Hannah Meeler earned the win after replacing starting pitcher Kaitlin Edwards. After scoring only one run in the first five innings, North Hall began the comeback in the sixth inning. Meeler was 1 for 2 on the night with a double and an RBI while Kailee Dyer and Logan Savage each added a pair of hits. Carson McCormack was 3 for 4 with two singles, four RBIs and the game-winning double.

Harper Seymour also had an impressive night at the plate with three singles and an RBI.

The Lady Trojans went 2-2 in the Lady Dog Invitational Tournament last weekend in Morgan County. North Hall beat Duluth 7-6 and Jackson 9-0, but dropped games against Archer and Social Circle.

Meeler earned the win on the mound against Jackson, and Edwards got the win against Duluth.


Cross Country

GAINESVILLE, JOHNSON WIN TEAM COMPETITIONS: Chestatee’s Lindsey Grater won the girls overall title at the 12th Annual Main Street Cross Country Invitational in Jefferson on Tuesday.

Grater, coming off a win at the Saucony Invitational last Saturday, finished the Crow’s Lake course in a time of 22:05.

The Johnson Lady Knights finished first place in the team competition, with Chestatee and Athens Christian rounding out the top three.

Juan Ortega of Gainesville won the boys meet and led the Red Elephants’ win in the team competition. Chestatee finished second, while Jefferson placed third.



NORTH HALL WINS TWICE: The North Hall Trojans defeated Madison County 25-22, 25-9 and Johnson 25-6, 25-8, thanks in part to a 10-point service run by Sydney Cleveland.

Cleveland also had nine kills and six aces, while Lily Paschall has 23 assists and seven aces in the win.

Julie Daniels had six kills and two aces, Autumn Tucker tallied six kills and Jen Mullican had four kills, three aces and two blocks for North Hall.

CHESTATEE FALLS TO BUFORD: Buford defeated the Chestatee War Eagles 25-15, 25-21 Tuesday night. Gabby Castillo had a kill, six digs and two aces, and Grace Brown had six kills, seven digs and an ace in the War Eagles’ loss.

Tyler Bennett had five digs, an ace and seven assists and Regan Puckett added two kills for Chestatee.

Chestatee will travel to Johnson next Tuesday.

EAST HALL DEFEATS REGION OPPONENTS: The East Hall Lady Vikings defeated Lumpkin County 25-8, 25-12 and West Hall 25-17, 25-18 at home Tuesday evening. Allyson Segars had 12 points on serve with three aces, eight kills and 10 digs on the night.

Ashleigh Burnett scored 19 points on serve with nine aces, two kills, 11 digs and an assist, and Savannah Lindsey had 16 points scored on serve with three aces, 23 digs and a kill.

The Lady Vikings (33-6, 2-0 Region 7-AAA) play at Monroe Area on Thursday with matches starting at 5 p.m.

LAKEVIEW SPLITS PAIR OF GAMES: The Lakeview volleyball team defeated Tallulah Falls 25-10, 26-24 before falling to Hebron on Tuesday evening.

Katie White had 14 kills, 19 digs and three aces on the night while Katie Gay notched eight kills, 18 digs and an ace.

Katie Montgomery had four blocks and three kills, and Delaney Jarrett contributed 14 assists, three aces and nine digs for the Lady Lions.

Lakeview plays next at Athens Christian next Tuesday.
