High School Scoreboard: Olsen tosses complete-game shutout for North Hall in 5-0 region win

North Hall pitcher Reese Olson threw a one-hit, complete-game shutout on Monday as the Trojans defeated George Walton, 5-0, in Monroe.

Tabor Mongero went 3 for 4 and Clark Hill had two RBIs.

North Hall visits Madison County on Friday.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 12, JOHNSON 1: J.D. Roark led the Lions with three RBIs on Monday.

Winning pitcher Rob Hamby went five innings, allowing one earned run on four hits with seven strikeouts.

Logan Barwick went 1 for 2 with two RBIs and Peyton Solinsky had two runs scored.

Lakeview Academy (3-3) visits St. Francis today at 4 p.m.

Tennis

NORTH HALL BOYS 5, LUMPKIN COUNTY 0: Jackson Davis (6-0, 6-0), Dalton Patterson (6-0, 6-0) and Reid Lattanzi (6-1, 6-1) all had comfortable wins on Monday in the singles competition.

In doubles, Paxton Gillespie/Dawson Smith won their match 6-2, 6-1, and Matthew Chewning/Shawn Wallhausen won 6-4, 6-2 to complete the Trojan sweep.

North Hall (5-0, 2-0 8-AAAA) visits White County on Wednesday.

RIVERSIDE MILITARY 5, WEST HALL 0: Sipho Khoza (6-2, 6-0), Sibu Khoza (6-3, 6-1) and Max Meehok (6-1, 6-3) led the way for the Eagles in singles.

Paul Popovich/Russell Bolton (6-3, 5-7, 6-1) and Josue Calderon/Brayden Lawson (7-5, 6-2) won in doubles.

Golf

JOHNSON GIRLS 144, WEST HALL 161: Jenni Barrett was Johnson’s low scorer with a 43 at Chicopee Woods on Monday.

Madison Stewart shot a 49 with a birdie, Emory Burkhead shot a 52 and McKenzie Peterson shot 59.

Johnson (3-0) faces Flowery Branch on Thursday at Chateau Elan.

NORTH HALL BOYS FINISH TIED FOR EIGHTH: The Trojans shot 315 at the Johnny Paulk Invitational on Saturday at Jekyll Island.

Bartley Forrester (74) finished with the ninth lowest score in the tournament. Brennan Manson (75) was 11th, Michael Page (80) 54th, Michael Kallab (86) 94th and Cord Sanford (88) finished 104th.

The tournament was hosted by Glynn Academy and featured 31 teams. Lambert won the event, shooting 292.

Lacrosse

RIVERSIDE MILITARY 12, GAINESVILLE 8: Ethan Cobb led all scorers with five for the Eagles in their victory Monday.

Riverside had six players score and Big Red (0-3) picked up goals from three different players.

For the Eagles, Sheymus Maloney (2), Ben Turner (2), Spencer Benford (1), Matt Roth (1) and Matt Rowan (1) each put the ball in the net.

Thomas Garner scored four for Gainesville, while Bill Hood and John Wagner each posted a pair of goals.

Sam Terray had eight saves in goal for the Red Elephants. Jackson West had a season-high nine saves in one half of action.

Gainesville and Riverside will play again March 14 at City Park.

Before then, Riverside will host Southwest DeKalb at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
