Sydney Cleveland led North Hall with 17 kills, 11 digs and an ace to lead North Hall to the Elite 8 in the AAAA state championship.

The Trojans swept Locus Grove in straight sets, 25-12, 25-14, 25-16 to set up the Saturday matchup. The opponent and time is yet to be announced.

Lily Paschall had 32 assists, three aces and six digs, while Julie Daniels contributed four digs, two aces and a block in the win.

Jen Mullican had four kills, three blocks and two aces, while Autumn Tucker and Makenzie Bryant combined to create 12 digs, nine kills and a block.

Cross Country

WAR EAGLES SWEEP IN TEAM, INDIVIDUAL EVENTS: Chestatee won both the team events, as well as the individual races, in a successful Tuesday evening at the 3rd Annual Tallulah Falls Harrier Harvest Cross Country Invitational.

Chestatee’s Ivan Martin won the boys’ overall race, setting a new course record with a time of 18:11.06, while freshman standout Lindsey Grater captured her fifth overall win with a time of 20:50.00.

The War Eagles finished first in both the boys’ and girls’ team results with 18 and 25 points, respectively.
Logan Brock (18:38.78), Austin Donaldson (19:18.73), Wesley Nicholson (19:58.51) and Zach Funk (19:59.17) all finished in the top six for Chestatee.

Abbie Cliche placed third overall (22:22.11) behind Grater, while Merrie Barnett took 4th place.

Chestatee travels to Unicoi State Park on Oct. 30 for the Region 8-AAAA Championship.


RIVERSIDE PARTICIPATES IN S.C. REGATTA: The Riverside Military Academy Crew competed in the Tail of the Tiger Regatta at Clemson University this past weekend.

The Youth Heavyweight Four of Kevin Muir, Matthew Conboy, Ethan Cobb, Chase Nunez and coxswain Garrett Scavelli finished 10th out of 14, with a time of 23:21.

The Youth Lightweight Four of Owen Elzie, Kolton Williamson, Ben Borden, David Dupuis finished in 23:43 and finished fifth.

The Youth Novice Four of Austin Caldwell, Michael Gunter, Ian Cooley, Matthew Leberte and coxswain Isaac Glanton finished with a time of 26:06 and placed eighth.

A second Youth Novice Four group of Andrews Chousal, David Brizzi, Fernando Casas, Marc Ioug, and coxswain Eugemio Guevara finished in 37:00, placing 10th.

Riverside will travel to compete again in two weeks at the Head of the Hooch in Chattanooga, Tenn.
