Fowler Brooks finished with two hits and two RBIs as North Hall defeated Johnson 7-0 on Wednesday in Oakwood.
The Trojans scored four runs in the third inning, with a two-run single from Brock Wingo, an RBI double for Fowler Brooks and an RBI single by Corbin Lewallen.
Taber Mongero also had two hits for North Hall, which scored single runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings.
Josh Hammond pitched five scoreless innings to earn the win, tallying three strikeouts and two walks. Aaron Miles and Nathan Kinney each tossed a scoreless inning of relief for the Trojans, with Miles striking out the side and Kinney allowing one hit and striking out one.
GAINESVILLE 7, WINDER-BARROW 1: Harrison Styles tossed a complete game Wednesday, allowing four hits and striking out three to pick up the win.
Michael Curry had two hits and an RBI, Anthony Carrera added two hits and Caleb Whitenton blasted a two-run home run in the first inning. Jonathan Gettys had a double and two RBIs for the Red Elephants.
Gainesville (14-4, 9-2 Region 8-AAAAA) hosts Winder-Barrow at 5:55 p.m. Friday.
BUFORD 7, MADISON COUNTY 1: Jake Higginbotham and Connor Bennett combined on a one-hitter and totaled 12 strikeouts for the Wolves on Wednesday in Danielsville.
Higginbotham pitched the first four innings to take the victory, striking out five and allowing one run on one hit. Bennett picked up a three-inning save, striking out seven while allowing no runs and no hits.
Austin Wilhite’s two hits and two RBIs led the Buford offense, with Brandon Marsh, Joey Bart and Dillon Lancaster each adding a hit and an RBI.
The Wolves scored four runs in the top of the fifth and single runs in the first, sixth and seventh. Madison County scored its lone run in the second.
Buford (18-2, 10-0 Region 8-AAAA) hosts Johnson at 5:55 p.m. Friday.
SALEM 4, FLOWERY BRANCH 1: Jonathan Hughes took the loss for the Falcons on Wednesday in Salem.
Flowery Branch totaled three hits in the loss.
The Falcons (12-5, 7-4 Region 8-AAAAA) get a rematch when they host Salem at 5:55 p.m. Friday at Hog Mountain Sports Complex.
