Gainesville High’s Paul Malquist won the pole vault at the LSU indoor invitational on Saturday night in Baton Rouge, La.
Malquist vaulted 15 feet, 8 inches to take first place and received the Overall Field Events Best Performance trophy.
Malquist’s jump ranks him No. 1 in the country in the pole vault so far this year.
