ATLANTA — Georgia Tech freshman guard Travis Jorgenson tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and will miss the remainder of the season.

Jorgenson hurt his knee in Wednesday night's 82-72 loss to Dayton. Jorgenson scored two points in the loss and was averaging 4.3 points and 2.5 assists through four games. Jorgenson, from Columbia, Mo., was averaging about 20 minutes per game.

Georgia Tech says a MRI on Thursday revealed the tear. Jorgenson is expected to have surgery within two weeks.

Coach Brian Gregory says he expects Jorgenson to make a full court and be ready for the 2014-15 season.
