Local golf: Two-best-ball event played at Chattahoochee

The team of Billy Shrader, Karl Goellner and Doug Hutson took first place in a two-best-ball, strokes tournament on Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course in Gainesville.

There was a tie for second place between the teams of Jack Costello, Chuck Keith, Bob Henderson, Dave Gleason: and Mike Kuczmarski, Bryan Bell, Carlyle Cox and Marty Anderson.

Closest to the pins were Don Gage No. 3, Mike Kuczmarski No. 5, Don Sorrell No. 12, and Billy Shrader No. 17.

FREEMAN ACES NO. 2 ON MILL AT CHICOPEE WOODS: Tait Freeman used a pitching wedge to ace the second hole on the Mill course from 141 yards Feb. 26 at Chicopee Woods Golf Course. Freeman used a Kirkland ball for the hole in one.

His ace was witnessed by Todd Austin and Eric Awtry.
