Former University of Georgia football coach and athletic director Vince Dooley will headline a reception and silent auction to benefit the United Way of Lumpkin County from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Achasta Clubhouse on Birch River Drive in Dahlonega.

Dooley will hold an autograph session for books, artist prints and Bulldog game day memorabilia that will be on sale.

"I am honored to be part of the United Way campaign in Dahlonega and Lumpkin County as we've supported the United Way for more than four decades," Dooley said.

Tickets for the event cost $50 per person, and are available at the Chamber of Commerce, United Community Back, North Georgia College Continuing Education or by calling the United Way at 706-864-0148.
