Brenau University's Kathleen Daniel, Devon Thomas sweep Player-Coach of the Year honors

The Brenau University softball program swept Player of the Year and Coach of the Year honors in the Southern States Athletic Conference.

Freshman pitcher Kathleen Daniel earned top pitching honors with a 38-2 record and a 0.50 ERA. She also tossed a nation-best 501 strikeouts in the circle for the Golden Tigers.

Meanwhile, Brenau coach Devon Thomas is the league’s Coach of the Year.

Mackenzie Oliver-Mullis, Autumn Conaway and Kelsey Payne also made the First-Team All-Conference for Brenau. Kelsey Payne and Conaway also made the Gold Glove Team for the Golden Tigers.

Also making First-Team All Conference Freshman for the Golden Tigers are Conway and Shelton Kendrix.

Mason Garland, MacKenzie Mullis, Sarah Peery, Lauren Sanders, Gabrielle Ray and Elizabeth Kimbrell were awarded with All-Academic Team honors for Brenau.
