When we celebrate our Independence Day on Wednesday, July 4, we should all seriously consider where we are going as a nation and how much longer this 242-year-old experiment in freedom and representative democracy will last. Things do not look good. Over the last 18 months, we seem to be evolving into something more like a mobocracy than a representative democracy.
