I am writing this letter in response to a letter written by Kyle Shook of Feb. 25, "No one should be denied rights over sexuality."

First, there are many laws against many things that present a danger to society, but because you, I or someone else may not like it, it cannot be done away with. The law must stand.

Many don't like speed limits, but to keep a fairly safe driving society, we have to have them. There are other things that can cause highways to be dangerous: drinking while driving, doing other things that takes one's attention away from driving and not paying attention as one should, to name a few.

It is sad that some people are led to believe that you can do whatever you desire, but that is not the case in America. Other countries have let their laws become so lax until they are barely hanging on by a thin thread.

Everything that is good for us is hated by somebody. Sometimes, it is simply because of pure jealousy and it is to our advantage to keep as good of a society as we possibly can. I am not being a judge but some things can cause a society to fall much quicker than one may think. Things are happening everyday that we cannot find solutions for.

America has been blessed too much to try to please everybody and every desire that someone has. We will never be able to please everybody. We will do good to study the history books and pay attention to what brought some of the biggest countries or societies down in the past.

I believe God allowed Columbus to discover America for a reason. I believe we need to stay focused on something that will help us to hold this nation or country together.
