To paraphrase a famous female comedian, "When men can become pregnant, abortions can be performed at the same place where you get your oil changed."

Our Georgia Senate's approval of the anti-abortion bill, the “heartbeat” bill, proves the accuracy of this line. The governor's support, to placate his base of voters, is no surprise either.

Abortion should be the choice of the woman who is carrying the baby. It will be a difficult choice regardless of the circumstances, but it should be the choice of the person most involved in the consequences of the choice.

It really is time for the decisions on abortion to be removed from the hands of old men who vote Republican.
