Heavy delays expected on Jesse Jewell Parkway on July 9

Drivers can expect nightly single lane closures on SR 13 over the next 3 weeks, beginning at the entrance of Interstate-985 and continuing up to Jesse Jewell Parkway. The project starts Sunday, July 14.

Motorists traveling one already-busy Gainesville road should expect even heavier delays Thursday, July 9.

Both the city and county report that work crews will be replacing concrete power poles along Jesse Jewell Parkway between Scotland Avenue and Queen City Parkway.

Between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution and use alternate routes if possible.
