Hall County authorities arrested a student Wednesday related to the bomb threat made Tuesday against North Hall High School.

Emilio Avalos Jr., 18, of Gainesville was arrested and charged with terroristic threats.

Hall County Schools spokesman Gordon Higgins said Avalos is a senior who has been suspended “pending a disciplinary tribunal.”

Authorities swept the school with bomb detection dogs. The threat caused a two-hour delay.

“No threats were ever located and there were no injuries to students or staff,” Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Deputy Nicole Bailes wrote in a news release.

The threat was found around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday on a restroom wall. Parents were alerted that they could come pick up their child early through the instant messenger system.

Higgins said the administration received tips that eventually led authorities to suspect Avalos.

Avalos was booked into the Hall County Jail and is being held on a $5,000 bond.

The case is still under investigation.
