Flowery Branch High senior Michael Herrington has been admitted the U.S. Naval Academy.

Herrington, nominated by U.S. Rep. Doug Collins, R-Gainesville, is the senior class president at Flowery Branch. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the cross country team. Herrington has also received the Air Force Association Outstanding Cadet award.

He is the son of Mike and Vickie Herrington.
