One person was killed in a wreck Monday morning on Interstate 985 near Buford Drive, according to authorities.

Gwinnett County Police said two cars were involved, with one driver trying to pass another vehicle.

The driver “lost control, struck a tree and died at the scene,” Cpl. Michele Pihera said.

No further information was provided by law enforcement, and the report had not been completed.
