Northeast Georgia Health System names board, panel members

Northeast Georgia Health System recently announced its new board members for 2009. The new members will be assuming positions on several different boards including the Hospital Authority board, the Northeast Georgia Health System, Inc. board, the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Inc. board and The Medical Center Foundation board. The new members are as follows:

Hospital Authority Board

Mary Jones is the owner of Jones Cutting Horses in Flowery Branch. Jones lives in Flowery Branch.

Spence Price is the chief financial officer for The Adams Companies. He also will serve on the finance committee for NGMC. He lives in Flowery Branch with his wife, April.

Northeast Georgia Health System Inc.

Denise Deal is the executive director of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce’s Vision 2030. She lives in Hall County with her husband, Jason.

Northeast Georgia Medical Center Inc.

Jay Hortenstine, MD, is a urologist with Gainesville Urology. Hortenstine resides in Gainesville with his wife, Sharon.

Jack Keener is the executive vice president for commercial lending at United Community Bank. Keener resides in Gainesville with his wife, Caroline.

Philip Marler, MD, is an internist with The Longstreet Clinic and chief of staff for NGMC. Marler resides in Gainesville with his wife, Joan.

The Medical Center Foundation

Hart Payne is the current president of The Medical Center Auxiliary. Payne resides in Gainesville with her husband, Dr. Jeff Payne.

Richard and Lona Pope are serving as The Medical Center Foundation Laurel Society co-chairs. Richard Pope has been the owner and CEO of First Financial Services for 50 years and also the CEO of Earr’s Inc. Lona Pope currently is serving as president of the Hall County Sunset Rotary Club. The Popes reside in Gainesville.

LeTrell Simpson retired from her position as vice president of corporate development at NGMC in 2006. Simpson resides in Gainesville.
