New school logo creates buzz

Riverbend Elementary School students celebrated the adoption of their new hornet logo Friday.

Students voted on several Brenau graphic arts students’ logo designs for the elementary school, and overwhelmingly the student body selected Brenau student Joni Lynn Scott’s design.

Scott, right, attended the schoolwide assembly in which she was awarded a $100 cash prize for her design.

Riverbend Elementary School Principal Debra Smith, left, said the school’s collaboration with Brenau University has helped the school to develop its fine arts education initiatives required of all Hall County schools to meet the expectations of a systemwide balanced scorecard.
