Mount Vernon fifth-graders receive 'fun' farewell on last day of school

There were many long hugs and teary eyes Wednesday in the halls of Mount Vernon Exploratory School. Younger students chanted “fifth grade!” and stretched out their hands for high-fives, as the elementary school’s fifth-graders walked the halls for the last time. Wednesday was the last day of school for Hall County Schools, and Mount Vernon sent off its fifth-grade students with a “Walk of Fame.”
