A bank robber remains at large after a Saturday morning heist at a Buford bank, and the suspect may be connected to a bank robbery from earlier in the week.

The robbery took place at the People’s Bank and Trust on Lake Lanier Islands Parkway shortly before the bank was set to close at noon, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

“On arrival at the scene, we learned that a white male entered the bank and demanded money,” said Col. Jeff Strickland, sheriff’s office chief deputy.

The suspect left on foot with an undetermined amount of money, Strickland said.

The robber was wearing a ball cap, sunglasses and a jacket. No weapon was displayed during the robbery and no one was injured.

The suspect remains at large and the sheriff’s office continues to investigate the robbery. The FBI has also been notified.

This is the area’s second robbery within a week and the robber in both fits the same description.

Around 11 a.m. Wednesday, a white man walked into the United Community Bank on Mundy Mill Road and demanded money from a clerk. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash from the employee, the suspect — who did not pull out a weapon — also fled on foot.

Anyone recognizing the man in the photograph or has information on the robbery is asked to call 911 or contact the Hall County Sheriff’s Office at 770-531-6879.
