Please give your readers an update on the mansion being built on Stephens and Flat Creek roads. Looks like a lot of palm trees have been planted recently, and some other additions. A lot of your readers are very curious about this place.
The home is about 80 percent complete, according to Lamar Carver, with Hall County Building Inspections. In April 2012 he had reported it was about 75 percent complete.
The original building permit on the property at 5096 Stephens Road was taken out in January 2009. Work on the mansion has slowed or stopped at times since then, but it is now in the final stages of completion.
Carver said the building inspections department has completed a rough inspection but not a final inspection.
The home is permitted at 9,622 square feet and also includes a large swimming pool with a lazy river and landscaping features, which also await final inspection.
Carver said last year that it’s not uncommon for construction to take 12 to 24 months even when everything is going at a normal pace.
According to Hall County property records, the home belongs to Fernando Lara and Flor Ramos.
