If you’ve been wondering about something in your community, Ask The Times is your place to get answers. The following question was submitted by a reader and answered through the efforts of our news staff.

What’s the latest on the Golden Corral coming to the intersection of Browns Bridge Road and Pearl Nix Parkway at the site of the former Folks restaurant?

Bryan Day, who is working on civil design for the project, said civil plans will be submitted in the next two weeks, while building plans are already in to the city.

Once those plans receive approval, construction can move forward on the restaurant.

Folks Southern Kitchen was closed in summer 2016 after approval for the Golden Corral was given, and demolition of Folks was completed in December.
