Local education leaders respond to governor promising $50 million for pre-K
They say it helps, but is just a first step

Local educators say another $50 million toward Georgia’s children is mostly a good thing. After the state’s pre-kindergarten program faced years of cuts, including creating larger class sizes and lowering teacher pay, Gov. Nathan Deal has announced his intention to reverse the cuts with lottery reserve funds, according to a report from the Associated Press.
