Hall County law enforcement agencies will be participating Saturday in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day to collect prescription drugs.

The Drug Enforcement Administration partners with local agencies to collect expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs and over-the-counter solid medications in an effort to reduce prescription drug abuse.

Local agencies participating include the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Gainesville Police Department, Oakwood Police Department and Braselton Police Department. Each department will have a separate location to collect the drugs.

The Hall County drop-off location will be the parking lot of Spout Springs Library, located at 6488 Spout Springs Road in Flowery Branch. The Gainesville Police Department will collect the drugs at the Gainesville Justice Center, located at 701 Queen City Parkway.

The Braselton location will be in the police department's community room, located at 5040 Ga. Highway 53. Another location will be at Oakwood City Hall, located at 4035 Walnut Circle.

Each location will be collecting drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

More than 309 tons of pills have been collected on Drug Take Back Days over the last two years.
