Del Taco is tentatively scheduled to open in late December on Dawsonville Highway, according to company spokeswoman Lauren Jacobson.

The restaurant is hoping to hire more than 50 people for all crew positions.

Pollo Tropical was formerly located in the building at the North Lake Square shopping center.

Del Taco serves tacos, burritos, salads and burgers. The company’s current location nearest Gainesville is in Milton, and there are also restaurants in Snellville and Woodstock, among other metro Atlanta cities.
