Hawk caused South Hall power outage

A hawk put 9,000 people in South Hall out of power this morning after it landed on equipment inside a substation and caused a short, Jackson EMC spokeswoman Bonnie Jones said.

The electricity provider’s Spout Springs Road substation was back online by about 10:45 a.m. after a 40 minute outage for about 4,000 customers and a shorter outage for others.
