A Hall County Fire Services lieutenant was terminated following an arrest Wednesday, according to county officials.

Sandon Dax Lewis, 34, was charged with giving false statements and misdemeanor obstruction. He was booked in to the Hall County Jail on Wednesday and has since bonded out.

Hall County spokeswoman Katie Crumley said he was terminated following the arrest. Lewis began with the department in August 2002.

An attempt to reach Lewis for comment Thursday afternoon was unsuccessful.

The case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Crumley said.
