Flowery Branch family recovers after house, dog lost in fire
1218FIRE
A dog died in this house fire early Wednesday morning on Spring Lake Drive in Flowery Branch.
Fourteen years of the Scroggs’ family memories went up in flames around 2 a.m. Wednesday. The family who lived in the 3,000-square foot house are now spending their Christmas holiday season in hotel rooms. Their Christmas tree and all the presents they had purchased were burned, so they won’t be celebrating the traditional way this year. “(We will) probably just going to go to a family friend’s house and exchange a couple gifts,” said Morgan Scroggs, 22, who had moved out of her family’s house six months ago.
