A public hearing is set for 6 tonight on Flowery Branch’s proposed fiscal 2013 budget. City Manager Bill Andrew and City Finance Director Jeremy Perry plan to discuss the spending plan at the hearing, taking place before Flowery Branch City Council at City Hall, 5517 Main St. The city is proposing a $5.4 million budget, including a $2.7 million general fund, which is supported by property taxes, among other revenue sources. The bottom line for taxpayers is that the tax rate is expected to remain the same at 2.837 mills, with 1 mill equal to $1 for each $1,000 in assessed property value.
