A North Hall home was destroyed by fire overnight, officials said. No one was hurt.

Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell said firefighters responded to the blaze at the 2900 block of Westwood Trail off U.S. 129 North at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A two-story, 3,500 square foot house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived and the blaze could be seen in the night sky from several miles away, Kimbrell said.

The occupants were at home at the time the fire started but were able to safely escape, he said.

The house, valued at $275,000, was a total loss, Kimbrell said. Two cars in a garage, a Ford F-150 and a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder, were also destroyed.

The occupants are staying with relatives.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
