Fire destroyed a house Saturday afternoon, causing $150,000 in damage, not including the contents.

The occupant called 911 about 2:15 p.m. after noticing smoke from the back porch of the house on Patterson Lane off Price Road in North Hall County, according to Hall County Fire Services.

Firefighters found the house, about 1,500 square feet on a basement, fully involved in flames. Fire also burned vehicles and woods near the house. The Georgia Forestry Commission helped fight the woods fire.

Authorities believe the fire may have started in the basement, but the investigation is ongoing. There were no injuries.

It’s the fifth fire since Thursday to which Hall firefighters have responded. Scott Cagle, planning and preparedness chief for the fire department, said there’s no particular reason for the recent rash of fires.
