Gov. Nathan Deal recently appointed four local residents to state positions.
Charles “Andy” Fuller of Gainesville has been appointed to the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.
Fuller is the chief superior court judge for the Northeastern Judicial Circuit and a former administrative judge for the Ninth
Judicial District and district attorney for the Northeastern Judicial
Circuit.
He serves on the Georgia Supreme Court’s Commission on Indigent Defense and the Georgia Supreme Court’s Commission on Dispute Resolution.
Fuller earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a juris doctorate from Mercer University.
Nancy S. Barton of Gainesville has been appointed to the Board of Nursing.
She is the director of Clinical Resource Management and Nursing Support Services at Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville.
She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the Georgia Organization of Nursing Leaders, Sigma Theta Tau and the National Association of Healthcare Quality.
Barton earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from the Georgia Health Sciences University.
William “Brad” Dunagan of Gainesville has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Teachers’ Retirement System of Georgia.
Dunagan has worked more than 12 years as an investment adviser and financial consultant. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and former environmental engineer with Georgia-Pacific Corp.’s Division of Strategic Planning and Analysis Group. He served as board chairman of the Rehabilitation Industries of Northeast Georgia.
Dunagan earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University.
Sarah F. Scott of Gainesville has been appointed to the Board of Cosmetology.
She owns and operates Style Connection, a Gainesville salon. She has held a master cosmetologist license for more than 40 years and has been a salon owner for more than 20 years.
