The Hall-Dawson Court-Appointed Special Advocate program is the latest recipient of a Delta Community Credit Union Philanthropic Fund grant.

The credit union’s Gainesville branch manager, Christy Wagner, joined Delta Community Chief Operating Officer Matthew Shepherd to present the $5,000 grant to CASA, a nonprofit organization that provides representation and advocacy to abandoned and abused children going through the court system. CASA volunteers provide a voice for children in court and the social services system, advocating for their right to an appropriate placement and a permanent home.

The Delta Community Philanthropic Fund supports the Credit Union’s corporate goal of strengthening local communities through financial support and volunteer efforts. This year alone, it has provided $80,000 to 17 charities throughout metro Atlanta.

Recipients of 2017 grants will be announced in November.
